One finger that I had used extensively on the first day of testing was utterly useless the next morning. The DigitalPersona device successfully scanned my fingerprint on almost every touch, while the Eikon rejected valid finger swipes fairly often. I found it a bit harder to use than the more expensive touch-style reader supplied with DigitalPersona Personal 4.0.

That's not surprising, as UPEK supplies the readers and built-in software for many notebook vendors. The product's swipe-style fingerprint reader is very similar to the fingerprint reader built into modern notebooks. The desktop-based Eikon Digital Privacy Manager is effectively the same product with the same price in a different form.
UPEK EIKON FINGERPRINT READER INSTALL
It doesn't carry its own software the way the other two do to use the product on a system, you must install the it, and you can do so only if you have Administrator privilege If you try to install it on a second computer, the application warns that doing so may wipe out existing fingerprint data stored on the device. The "to go" in this product's name simply means that when you step away from the computer, you can pocket the reader. Unplug the key and nothing is left behind on the foreign computer. Plug the key into any computer, launch the program, and you have immediate access to your stored credentials.

From the name, you might expect the same sort of portability found in RoboForm2Go or the portable edition of 1-Click SignupShield Suite 5, both of which reside entirely on a USB key. The Eikon To Go is a USB-connected fingerprint reader with onboard memory for storing fingerprints.
